Who we are

SiteSake is a web design business run by Shamia Ali, a sole trader based in the UK. Shamia is responsible for how your personal information is used.

What we collect

When you fill in our quote form, we collect your name, business name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include.

If you become a client, we also collect the details needed to build your website and invoice you. This includes content you send us, such as photos, text and information about your business.

Why we use it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, build and deliver your website, send invoices and keep the records we're legally required to keep.

We never sell your information, and we won't add you to marketing emails without asking first.

Our legal reasons

UK data protection law requires us to have a valid reason for using your information. Ours are:

• You've asked us to contact you, so we use your details to respond to your enquiry.
• We need your information to carry out our contract with you, if you become a client.
• We're legally required to keep certain records, such as invoices for tax purposes.

Who else sees it

Your information is only seen by the SiteSake team and the trusted services we use to run the business: our email provider, the service that handles our website form, our website host, our bank and our accounting software. These services only handle your data on our behalf.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

If you get in touch but don't go ahead, we delete your details within 12 months.

If you become a client, we keep your records for 6 years after our work together ends, as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Cookies

Our website doesn't use cookies for tracking or advertising. If we add visitor statistics in future, we'll use a privacy-friendly tool and update this notice.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• ask us to correct anything that's wrong
• ask us to delete your information
• object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
• ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere

To do any of these, email hello@sitesake.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

How to complain

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first at hello@sitesake.co.uk and we'll do our best to put it right.

If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
